Assateague National Seashore features 37 miles of long pristine beaches and
sandy dunes which protect the ecologically rich wetlands along the Chincoteague
Bay. The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful, but it’s the wild horses that
give this park its charm (and fame). At Assateague National Seashore you can
wander the beaches, swim in the life-guard protected waters during the summer
season, bicycle on paved paths or hike on paved or unpaved trails, and take
advantage of the water by kayaking, shellfishing, or surf fishing.
Another great nature park, this one a bit closer to Bethany proper, Delaware Seashore State Park offers pristine beaches
to wander or surf, wonderful trails for hiking, and ample opportunities for
crabbing and bird watching. The park’s 7 miles of seashore run along the
Atlantic Ocean and the Rehoboth and Indian River Bays. The park also has a
marina with all the amenities a boat owner (or renter) could want or need.
The beautiful Costen House Museum and Rose Garden is a must-visit for anyone
interested in the history of the region or anyone with a love of beautiful

live of the Costen family at the bridge of the 20th century. They lived in the
home between 1870 and 1920. The house has been lovingly preserved and makes for
a wonderful trip back in time.
The DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum offers a fantastic adventure for kids and
maritime enthusiasts alike. The museum, which has free admission, showcases
artifacts from shipwrecks from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. Currently
there are more that 6,500 artifacts on display.

The Salisbury Zoological Park is another great destination for an entertaining

America, and North America. You and your kids will love wandering around the
zoo and seeing animals in recreations of their natural habitats. From jaguars

animals to keep you and the little ones entertained.
A day in Cape May is a must for visitors to Bethany, Delaware. Take the
Lewes Ferry from Lewes, Delaware to Cape May, New Jersey. The 17-mile ride
across the Delaware Bay is fun on the large ferry. Cape May itself is a trip
back in time. Browse independent shops, eat in independent cafes and
restaurants, and wander the tree-lined streets to check out the beautifully
maintained and restored Victorian houses.
